★ The Comparison

Why your kennel comes out ahead with Timberwolf.

Most "premium" breeder food sits at 25–30% crude protein and quietly leans on meat by-products and grain fillers. Timberwolf doesn't. Here's the line-by-line.

★ The Ratings

Independently rated & breeder-trusted.

We're not just claiming high-protein — third-party reviewers, working-dog handlers, and breeders have been ranking Timberwolf at the top of the premium tier for years.

★ The Science

Why high protein actually matters in a kennel.

The average bag on the pet aisle hits 22–28% crude protein. Timberwolf runs 34–40% across the line — and every gram of that protein leads with a named animal source, not a plant filler. For breeders, that's the difference between a dam recovering quickly and a litter coming in light.

Protein is the building block. Dogs require 10 essential amino acids they can only get from food — bitches need more during gestation, lactation, and recovery. Puppies need it for frame, immunity, and coat in the first 16 weeks. Working dogs need it to repair tissue between drives. Higher digestible protein means less waste in the run, more nutrition in the dog.

★ The Case for Breeders

Why your kennel runs better on Timberwolf.

Six places we see the biggest difference inside breeder kennels — from the whelping box to the show ring. Every reason traces back to the same thing: high-protein, animal-focused recipes built around the way dogs are meant to eat.

🤱

Whelping & Lactation

34–40% crude protein plus calorie density supports the last three weeks of gestation and full lactation. Free-feed dams during peak demand without grain bloat or filler load.

🐶

Puppy Growth

Real meat and fish first — Wild & Natural and Wilderness deliver dense, highly digestible protein during the first 16 weeks when frame and immunity are being built.

Coat for the Ring

Herring meal, whitefish, and fresh salmon load Ocean Blue and Black Forest with Omega 3 / 6. Show breeders typically start a dog on Ocean Blue 60–90 days before a major event.

🌿

Sensitive Stomachs

Our proprietary herbal blend — turmeric, fennel, basil, cumin, parsley, thyme — supports digestion and gut health. No corn, no wheat, no soy, no by-products in any formula.

🦴

K9 & Working Lines

Dakota (buffalo) and Wilderness (lamb) are favored by handlers running protection-sport dogs, gun dogs, and K9 units. High-energy fuel that holds up under the day.

🐕‍🦺

Multi-Breed Kennels

Wild & Natural is built for all life stages — from weaning puppies to seniors. One bag across the program simplifies feeding ops without trading down on nutrition.

— Show-line GSD breeder, central Texas
★ The Economic Case

How breeder pricing actually pays back.

Beyond the per-bag discount, the math compounds when you account for feed volume, vet visits, and puppy retention.

  • Feed less per dog. Dense, animal-first formulas mean fewer cups per dog — fewer bags per month across the kennel.
  • Cleaner stools, lower kennel labor. Less waste means less bedding, fewer pressure washes, less time scooping runs.
  • Healthier dams, faster recovery. High-protein support through gestation and lactation translates to better litters and shorter inter-litter intervals.
  • Premium puppy buyers, fewer callbacks. Buyers who get a recipe guide + transition card stay on Timberwolf, lowering "what do I feed?" calls and increasing referrals.
  • Direct-from-Timberwolf shipping. Breeder accounts ship direct — no third-party markup, no minimum-quantity friction at the local shop.

★ Breeder Questions

What breeders ask before enrolling.

What discount do I get as a breeder?

Three breeder tiers based on adult dog count and litter cadence:

  • Standard Breeder (1–10 adult dogs) — 20% off MSRP
  • Pro Breeder (11–25 adult dogs) — 25% off MSRP
  • Commercial Kennel (26+ dogs · signed no-resale) — 30% off MSRP

On top of that, full-line stocking kennels can step up to Wolf Pack ISO / Alpha Club tiers for deeper margins, growth rebates, and quarterly free product. Our partnerships team confirms which tier fits during the intake call.

How do you ship?

Breeder accounts ship direct from Timberwolf. Free freight at $20,000+ qualifying volume; flat freight schedule below that. Most kennels run a quarterly cadence — one bulk order keeps the kennel stocked, reduces per-bag freight cost, and frees up your time.

Is there a minimum order?

No hard minimum at the Standard Breeder tier — order what your kennel actually consumes. Tier placement (Standard 20% · Pro 25% · Commercial 30%) is set at intake based on your adult dog count + litter cadence. Wolf Pack ISO and Alpha Club layer on top for kennels that want to stock the full line and earn growth rebates.

How does the trial work?

After your application is approved, we can ship trial bags to your kennel so you can do a controlled switch on a portion of your dogs before moving the whole kennel. Most breeders run a 4–6 week trial on a few dams or working dogs first. Trial bags are part of the post-registration onboarding — not a pre-application offer.

What puppy buyer materials do you include?

Recipe guides, transition cards, and sample bags so every puppy goes home with two weeks of food and clear feeding instructions. Buyers stay on Timberwolf instead of churning to whatever's at the local shop — that means fewer "what do I feed?" calls back to you, and a higher rate of referrals from happy owners.

Can I rotate recipes through the kennel?

Yes — many breeders rotate every bag (e.g., Wild & Natural → Ocean Blue → Wilderness). Because the manufacturing standards and protein quality are consistent across the line, rotation is well-tolerated and offers nutritional variety. Skip rotation for dogs on elimination diets.

Do you cover all life stages?

Yes. All Timberwolf formulas are formulated for all life stages — puppy through senior. Many breeders run Wild & Natural or Wilderness across the entire kennel to simplify operations and keep dogs on consistent nutrition through every life stage.

What's the best formula for whelping bitches?

Wild & Natural is the most common choice — broad-spectrum protein and calorie density support late gestation and lactation. Free-feed during the last 3 weeks of gestation and full lactation. Some breeders rotate Ocean Blue in for added Omega-3 to support pup coat development.
