By regulation, pet food ingredients are listed in order of weight. When the first ingredient is real meat or fish, the recipe is anchored in animal protein — the protein dogs and cats are biologically built to use.

Many commodity foods list grain or corn first because it's cheap and bulks up the bowl. Timberwolf doesn't do that. We start with named animal proteins like buffalo meal, venison meal, salmon, herring meal, lamb, and chicken meal.
